Our waterproofing project, which we carried out on a 500 square meter area on the roof of ZF Friedrichshafen AG's facilities, was of critical importance for the facility to operate in a long-lasting and trouble-free manner. Our aim was to protect the factory's roof from possible water leaks and ensure that the production processes inside continue without interruption. Accordingly, we meticulously selected materials that offer the highest level of performance and durability. The basis of our project was the principles of waterproofing and longevity. We started our work by preparing the existing concrete surface of the roof. At this stage, we cleaned and roughened the surface using a concrete diamond grinding machine. This process improved the overall performance of the system by allowing the epoxy primer to adhere better to the surface. Then, we applied the epoxy primer. The epoxy primer strengthens the waterproofing property of the system by creating a strong bond between the concrete surface and the polyurea coating. The reason for choosing the epoxy primer is its excellent adhesion property and its ability to stabilize the concrete surface. Afterwards, we applied 2 mm thick pure polyurea. Pure polyurea is an ideal waterproofing material for roofs due to its high elasticity, fast curing property and chemical resistance. It is known for its resistance to sudden weather changes and physical effects. The rapid curing of polyurea ensured that the project was completed in a short time. Finally, we applied aliphatic paint that provides protection against UV rays and external factors. Aliphatic paint preserves the color of the polyurea coating and extends its life. Thanks to this paint, it is aimed to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the roof for many years. With the completion of the project, the roof of ZF Friedrichshafen AG has been fully protected against water leaks. Thanks to the high performance of the materials used and our meticulousness in the application process, a long-lasting and reliable waterproofing system has been created. This project has once again proven how important the correct material selection and professional application techniques are in waterproofing.
