Ulker

The Ülker project was implemented on an area of 340 square meters to definitively solve the water leakage problem and to achieve an aesthetically pleasing flooring. The importance of the project was to prevent the damage caused by water leaks, especially in wet areas, and to provide a long-lasting, durable flooring solution. To achieve this goal, a detailed inspection was carried out before the application. The condition of the existing ceramic surface was evaluated and surface preparation was started. The surface was sanded with a diamond-tipped light sanding machine to remove the shine on the ceramics and to ensure better adhesion of the material. Broken and damaged ceramics were carefully repaired, thus obtaining a smooth and solid surface. The first stage was the application of epoxy primer to the surface. The epoxy primer filled the pores of the surface, creating an excellent base for the subsequent polyurethane coating. Epoxy adhered firmly to the floor thanks to its excellent adhesion properties and formed a waterproof barrier. After the primer dried, a 2 mm thick pure polyurea application was carried out. Pure polyurea was preferred in the project due to its high elasticity, crack bridging properties and fast curing time. This material exhibits high resistance to water, chemicals and abrasion. The polyurea application was carried out with special spraying equipment and the entire floor was completely covered. Finally, a UV-resistant, aliphatic paint was applied. Aliphatic paint protected the polyurea coating from the harmful effects of the sun, while also giving the floor an aesthetic appearance. This paint is resistant to fading and retains its original vibrancy for many years. The project successfully achieved its stated purpose, solved the waterproofing problem and provided an aesthetic, durable flooring.
