Our flooring project at the headquarters building of Turkiye Ekonomi Bankasi aimed to combine aesthetics and durability, exceeding the requirements of a modern office environment. Our goal was to provide a flooring solution suitable for the bank's heavy usage, long-lasting, easy to clean, and also enhance employee motivation. In this direction, we preferred the polyurea coating system. Polyurea is a superior material with excellent mechanical properties, fast curing, and the ability to provide seamless application on large surfaces. We started our project with meticulous preparation. First, we thoroughly cleaned the existing concrete floor with a diamond-tipped hand grinding machine, ensuring perfect adhesion of the polyurea application. This stage optimized the floor flatness and surface roughness, allowing for homogeneous distribution of the coating. Then, we applied an epoxy primer. The epoxy primer filled the pores of the concrete surface, helping the polyurea coating to bond more tightly to the concrete and creating a strong bridge between the floor and the coating. The reason for choosing the epoxy primer was that its high adhesion strength and chemical resistance would enhance the performance of the polyurea. In the second stage, we proceeded to apply a 2 mm thick pure polyurea. Pure polyurea is a two-component elastomer with properties such as high elasticity, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. The polyurea, applied by spraying, cured in seconds, creating a flexible and durable layer on the floor. In this way, the floor surface became resistant to impacts, scratches, and chemical substances. Finally, we applied aliphatic paint to complete the aesthetic appearance and increase UV resistance. Aliphatic paint protected the polyurea coating from the harmful effects of sunlight, preventing color fading and extending the life of the coating. In addition, the glossy and smooth surface of the aliphatic paint made floor cleaning easier and provided a hygienic environment. As a result of the project, we achieved an aesthetic, durable, and long-lasting floor in the office floors of Turkiye Ekonomi Bankasi. The polyurea coating system successfully responded to the bank's heavy usage while increasing the comfort and motivation of employees. The success of the project was a result of our meticulous material selection, our professionalism in the application process, and our attention to detail.
