Sheraton Hotel

The Sheraton Hotel project was implemented to ensure that this structure, a symbol of luxury and comfort, offers a long-lasting and flawless experience. The most important goal of the project was to protect the building from the negative effects of water, maximizing the comfort and safety of guests and employees. Accordingly, our priority was to choose waterproofing solutions that would not spoil the aesthetic appearance and would perform at a high level. Carefully selected, state-of-the-art materials were used for waterproofing the terraces, balconies, pools, and wet areas of the project. Polyurea, known for its high performance and long life, was preferred for terraces and balconies. Before starting the Polyurea application, the concrete surface was smoothed with a diamond-tipped grinding machine. This process ensured that the Polyurea adhered perfectly to the surface. Then, epoxy primer was applied. The epoxy primer strengthened the surface and increased the adhesion of the Polyurea. A waterproof, flexible, and durable layer was created with a 2 mm thick pure Polyurea application. Finally, 4 cm thick spray polyurethane foam was applied to provide thermal insulation and increase comfort. Polyurethane foam provided both thermal insulation and protected the Polyurea from external factors, extending its lifespan. In wet areas, Köster's high-performance waterproofing systems were used. Köster BD50 was applied in bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens to prevent the negative effects of water and provide a hygienic environment. Köster NB 2000 was preferred in areas exposed to intense water, such as thermal pools, swimming pools, shock pools, steam rooms, and Turkish baths. Thanks to its high chemical resistance and impermeability, Köster NB 2000 provided long-term protection in these areas. By using the Köster NB System in water tanks and thermal storage, it was ensured that the areas where water was stored remained hygienic and safe. This system protected the quality of the water while also extending the life of the building. This project was successfully completed thanks to the quality of the selected materials, the meticulous work of expert teams, and the correct application methods. The Sheraton Hotel now has a structure that is protected from the negative effects of water and will offer its guests a comfortable and safe experience for many years.
