Roketsan

The water leakage problem in the Roketsan radar tower was threatening the functionality of this critical structure housing sensitive electronic equipment. Our goal was to provide a long-lasting and reliable insulation solution that would protect this important structure from the adverse effects of water. Our project was implemented on a 300 square meter area with state-of-the-art insulation materials and a meticulous application process. As a first step, a concrete diamond-tipped light grinding machine was used to prepare the existing surface. This process ensured the smoothing of the floor and better adhesion of the insulation materials. Then, epoxy primer was applied to the surface. The epoxy primer not only filled the pores of the concrete surface to create an excellent base, but also helped the pure polyurea bond more strongly to the concrete. The epoxy primer was chosen for its high adhesion property and compatibility with the concrete surface. The 2 mm thick pure polyurea, which forms the basis of the insulation, stands out with its high elasticity, fast curing property and waterproof structure. The polyurea application was carried out using special spraying equipment. In this way, a perfect insulation layer was created on the floor without any joints. The reason for choosing pure polyurea was its superior resistance to weather conditions and chemicals, as well as its ability to not be affected by movements in the ground thanks to its crack bridging property. Finally, aliphatic paint was applied to the surface. Aliphatic paint protects the polyurea coating from UV rays, extending the life of the material and providing an aesthetic appearance. This type of paint was preferred because it has high color stability and is resistant to yellowing. The project was meticulously planned and implemented, definitively solving the water leakage problem in the Roketsan radar tower and ensuring that the structure can be used safely for many years. The success of the project was achieved through a combination of correct material selection, expert team and meticulous application process.
