Memorial Hospital

The water leakage issue we encountered on the terrace of Memorial Hospital was threatening patient comfort and the building structure. Therefore, finding a quick and permanent solution was our priority. We initiated a comprehensive waterproofing project on the approximately 330 square meter terrace area to repair the damages caused by the water accumulating under the ceramic coating and to prevent potential future problems. One of the most critical steps of the project was selecting the right materials. In this context, we decided that the combination of Epoxy Primer, Pure Polyurea, and Aliphatic Paint was the most suitable solution. Epoxy Primer provided excellent adhesion to the ceramic surface, preparing the ground for the subsequent layers to integrate with the floor. Pure Polyurea, with its high elasticity and waterproofness, guaranteed complete protection against water for the terrace. Finally, Aliphatic Paint added value to the project with its UV resistance and aesthetic appearance. Our application process was meticulously planned and executed. First, the ceramic surface was carefully abraded with a diamond-tipped light grinding machine to remove the gloss and roughen the surface. This process allowed the Epoxy Primer to adhere better to the ceramic. Then, broken or damaged ceramics were repaired, thus leveling the floor surface. The application of Epoxy Primer reduced the absorbency of the surface, allowing the Pure Polyurea to be applied more efficiently. The application of 2 mm thick Pure Polyurea covered the entire surface of the terrace, creating a waterproof barrier. Finally, the application of Aliphatic Paint both improved the aesthetic appearance of the terrace and increased its resistance to UV rays. Our project permanently solved the water leakage problem on the terrace of Memorial Hospital. Thanks to the high performance of the materials used and our meticulous application process, the terrace is now safe to use. This project once again proved the importance of correct material selection and expert application in waterproofing.
