In this project, where we set out to give the parking lot floors of Türkiye İş Bankası Technology and Operation Center a modern and durable appearance, we preferred epoxy flooring systems. Our aim was to obtain a durable, easy-to-clean, aesthetic, and long-lasting floor that could withstand heavy vehicle traffic. Parking lot floors are one of the important areas that give the first impression of buildings, and therefore, the correct material selection and application are of great importance. At the beginning of the project, we examined the condition of the existing concrete floor in detail. Then, we carried out leveling and cleaning operations with a diamond-tipped grinding machine to prepare the floor for epoxy coating application. This process allowed us to create a smooth and solid surface that would allow the epoxy primer to adhere better to the concrete. This stage was a critical step for the longevity of the coating. First, we carefully applied the epoxy primer. The primer acts as a bridge between the concrete and the epoxy coating, ensuring that the coating adheres firmly to the surface. After the primer application, we moved on to the intermediate layer epoxy application. The intermediate layer was applied to increase the durability of the floor and provide protection against possible impacts. The thickness of this layer was determined according to the expected traffic density of the parking lot. Finally, we completed the floor coating process with the topcoat epoxy application. The topcoat epoxy provides the floor with a bright and aesthetic appearance, as well as resistance to abrasion and chemicals. The color of this layer was chosen to match the corporate identity of İş Bankası. During the application, factors such as air temperature and humidity were taken into consideration to ensure that the coating dried perfectly. As a result of the project, the parking lot floors of Türkiye İş Bankası Tuzla Technology and Operation Center have gained a modern, durable, and aesthetic appearance. The epoxy flooring system extended the service life of the parking lot while minimizing maintenance costs. This project has once again proven that epoxy flooring systems are an ideal solution for areas subject to heavy use, such as parking lots.
