The water insulation project of Halic University was implemented to strengthen the infrastructure of an educational institution that looks to the future with confidence. The comfort of the students and the longevity of the structure were the main motivations of this project. In this important work carried out on an area of approximately 400 square meters, the aim was to provide water insulation by using the latest technology and high-quality materials. At the beginning of the project, the ground preparation was done with great care. The concrete surface was ground with a special diamond-tipped hand-held grinding machine to obtain a smooth and clean surface. This process was critical to ensure that the epoxy primer adhered perfectly to the concrete. The choice of epoxy primer was made because it penetrates deeply into the concrete, increases the durability of the surface, and creates a strong bonding base for the next layer. After the application of the epoxy primer, the application of two-millimeter-thick pure polyurea was started. Pure polyurea, thanks to its high elasticity, fast curing property and excellent water impermeability, guaranteed that the project would have a long-lasting and effective waterproofing. The flexible structure of polyurea minimized the risk of cracking by adapting to the movements of the building over time. As a final layer, aliphatic paint was used. The reason for choosing aliphatic paint is its high resistance to UV rays and color durability. In this way, the aesthetic appearance of the surface will be preserved for many years and additional protection will be provided against the corrosive effects of weather conditions. Throughout the application process, each stage was meticulously followed by expert teams and quality control tests were carried out regularly. With the completion of the project, Halic University was provided with a reliable and long-lasting solution for water insulation. In this way, an important step was taken to protect the internal and external structure of the building from the harmful effects of water, so that students can receive education in a healthier and more comfortable environment.
