Carrefour

The entrance section of the Carrefour Shopping Mall was a critical area, forming the first impression of the center and being passed through by thousands of people every day. Therefore, the flooring needed to be both aesthetically inviting and resistant to heavy use. Our aim was to create a durable and safe flooring that would make the shopping experience more enjoyable. To this end, we opted for a three-stage system for the flooring, consisting of epoxy primer, pure polyurea, and aliphatic paint. The epoxy primer filled the pores of the concrete surface, preparing an ideal base for the polyurea application while also increasing adhesion. Pure polyurea, with its high elasticity, rapid curing property, and waterproof structure, provided excellent protection for the floor. Finally, aliphatic paint would maintain the aesthetic appearance of the floor for a long time with its resistance to UV rays and color stability. We started the application process by preparing the floor. We removed existing imperfections and cleaned the surface by grinding the concrete surface with a diamond-tipped light grinding machine. This process ensured better adhesion of the epoxy primer to the concrete. Then, we applied the epoxy primer to the surface and waited for it to dry. After the epoxy primer dried, we carried out the application of 2 mm thick pure polyurea. The polyurea was spread homogeneously on the floor with a special spraying equipment and cured very quickly. This rapid curing property allowed us to minimize the impact on the normal operation of the shopping mall. Finally, we applied the aliphatic paint to the surface, giving the floor a final touch. The aliphatic paint gave the floor a bright and vibrant appearance while preventing color fading by providing protection against UV rays. The project was a success beyond our expectations. The floor had both a modern and inviting appearance and became extremely resistant to heavy use. Our customers and visitors expressed their satisfaction with the comfort and safety of the new floor.
