The water leakage problem in Aselsan and Roketsan radar towers posed a serious threat to sensitive electronic equipment and operational reliability. Therefore, producing a quick and permanent solution was of vital importance. Our aim was to eliminate this critical problem in an area of 300 square meters, ensuring that the radar towers operate safely and for a long time. The project started with a meticulous preliminary review and a detailed planning process. As a first step, we evaluated the condition of the existing surface and carried out a comprehensive cleaning. We carefully grinded the floor with a state-of-the-art diamond-tipped light grinding machine, preparing the surface for the next stage. This grinding process cleaned the surface of dust, dirt, and loose particles, ensuring that the primer adheres perfectly to the concrete. Afterwards, we applied epoxy primer to the surface. The epoxy primer filled the pores of the concrete surface, ensuring better adhesion of the polyurea coating to be applied and increasing its water impermeability. The reason for choosing epoxy primer was its high adhesion strength, chemical resistance, and long life. After the primer dried, we proceeded with the application of 2 mm thick pure polyurea. Pure polyurea is one of the most advanced materials used in waterproofing. Thanks to its high elasticity, fast curing property, and UV resistance, it provides excellent protection against harsh weather conditions and mechanical effects. We performed the polyurea application flawlessly using special spraying equipment. As the last layer, we applied aliphatic paint. Aliphatic paint protects the polyurea coating from UV rays, preventing it from fading and losing its properties. It also enhanced the exterior of the radar towers by providing an aesthetic appearance. As a result of the project, the water leakage problem in Aselsan and Roketsan radar towers was completely eliminated. The radar towers have become able to operate safely and smoothly for many years. Thanks to the high performance of the materials used and the meticulous work of our expert team, the project achieved a success beyond expectations.
