Aras Cargo

We set out to find a permanent solution to the water leakage problem that turned into a nightmare on the roof of Aras Kargo. The water leakage from the existing ceramic coating in the terrace area was damaging the interior of the building and disrupting operations. Our aim was to solve this problem from the root and ensure that Aras Kargo can continue its activities safely. In this 500 square meter area, we decided to install a state-of-the-art waterproofing system known for its durability, impermeability and longevity. Our first step was to prepare the existing ceramic surface. We gently abraded the glossy surface layer on the ceramics with a diamond-tipped light grinding machine, ensuring better adhesion of the new materials to be applied. Broken and damaged ceramics were meticulously repaired, as the flatness and soundness of the floor surface was critical to the success of the insulation. Then, after cleaning and dusting the surface, we proceeded to apply the epoxy primer. The epoxy primer created a base that would allow the polyurea coating to adhere perfectly to the ground. The biggest factor in the selection of the epoxy primer is its excellent adhesion to concrete and the creation of a solid base for the polyurea to be applied. When we came to the heart of the waterproofing, pure polyurea came on the scene. Applied in a thickness of 2mm, this material created a seamless, flexible and absolute barrier against water. The shock-absorbing property of polyurea distributes the loads on it, extending the life of the floor. In addition, thanks to the fast curing property of polyurea, the application process was minimized and Aras Kargo's operations were not interrupted. Finally, aliphatic paint was applied to increase resistance to UV rays and external factors. Aliphatic paint protected the polyurea coating from the harmful effects of the sun while also providing an aesthetic appearance. When the project was completed, Aras Kargo's water leakage problem on the terrace was permanently solved, and a durable and long-lasting waterproofing system was created. This project is proof that excellent results can be achieved in waterproofing with the right material selection and meticulous application processes.
