In AFAD's critical operations, ensuring uninterrupted logistics and coordination is vital. With this awareness, we aimed to create a safer and more functional area by renewing the floor covering of AFAD's parking area. The aim of the project was to create a durable, long-lasting, and easy-to-clean floor that could withstand heavy vehicle traffic. Our priority was to provide a solution suitable for AFAD's continuously active structure, which must always be ready for emergencies. At the heart of the project was the 2mm Köster PUR 570 pure polyurea coating, which stands out for its durability and flexibility. This material was an ideal choice for parking lot floors due to its high resistance to abrasion, impact, and chemicals. In addition, its UV resistance ensured that it would retain its color and properties for many years. The rapid curing property of polyurea ensured that the parking lot would be reopened in the shortest possible time. We started the application process by cleaning and roughening the existing concrete floor with a diamond-tipped grinding machine. This process helped us achieve a long-lasting result by ensuring that the polyurea coating adhered perfectly to the floor. Then, we prepared the surface for coating by applying a solvent-free epoxy primer. The epoxy primer not only increased the smoothness of the surface but also ensured that the polyurea coating adhered better to the floor. After the polyurea application, a top coat application with aliphatic paint was made to improve the aesthetic appearance of the floor and increase safety. Finally, yellow parking lines were drawn to make parking spaces more visible and ensure the orderly use of the parking lot. The project achieved its goal by making AFAD's parking area safer, more durable, and more functional. Thanks to the quality of the materials used and the meticulousness of the application, trouble-free use is expected for many years. Contributing to AFAD's operational efficiency is the project's greatest success.
