Wet Area Waterproofing
Wet area waterproofing is critical to ensure the water resistance of areas exposed to water such as bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and laundry rooms. Polyurea is an ideal material for such applications because it cures quickly, has high elasticity and excellent chemical resistance. It offers a longer lasting and more reliable solution compared to traditional methods. Polyurea insulation prevents water leakage and protects structural integrity thanks to its excellent adhesion to the surface. Polyurea systems formulated in accordance with EN 1504-2 standards are suitable for use in areas in contact with drinking water. The use of polyurea in wet areas prevents mold and mildew formation, provides a hygienic environment and facilitates cleaning. In addition, it offers an aesthetic appearance with different color options and creates a smooth surface for flooring. Thanks to its high mechanical strength, polyurea insulation is resistant to impacts and abrasion, which is an advantage especially in wet areas exposed to heavy use.

Polyurea Kitchen Waterproofing
Using polyurea in kitchen waterproofing prevents water damage by creating a hygienic and durable surface.
Application Process
Surface Preparation
The surface is cleaned of dust, oil, dirt and loose particles. If necessary, it is roughened with a diamond-tipped concrete grinding machine. Cracks and gaps on the surface are filled with suitable repair mortars. The moisture content must be below 5%.
Primer Application
Solvent-free epoxy primer or polyurethane primer compatible with polyurea is applied to the surface. The primer allows the polyurea to adhere better to the surface and closes the pores. Primer consumption is determined according to the absorbency of the surface.
Polyurea Application
Polyurea is applied to the surface by spraying with a high-pressure polyurea machine at a temperature of 60-85°C. The application thickness must be at least 2 mm. Applying in layers provides a more homogeneous thickness. Weather conditions (temperature, humidity) should be taken into consideration during application.
Final Check and Cleaning
After the application is completed, the surface is checked for any defects. Corrections are made if necessary. The surface is cleaned and made ready for use. Odor is removed by providing ventilation.
Application Process Summary
In wet area waterproofing, surface preparation, correct primer selection and a minimum application thickness of 2mm with a high-pressure polyurea machine provide a long-lasting and waterproof result.
