Fresh Water Treatment Plants

Polyurea coatings used in fresh water treatment plants play a critical role in water storage and treatment processes. Polyurea stands out with its superior chemical resistance, fast curing properties, and long-lasting structure compared to traditional coating materials. These features make polyurea a reliable solution even under the challenging conditions of fresh water treatment plants. Thanks to its high resistance to chlorine, ozone, and other treatment chemicals, it protects water quality and prevents coating deterioration. Polyurea, applied at 60-85 degrees Celsius with a high-pressure polyurea machine, can be used in various areas such as water tanks, treatment pools, and pipelines. Its flexible structure provides resistance to cracks caused by ground movements and prevents water leakage. In addition, polyurea coatings create an excellent barrier against corrosion, protecting the structural integrity of the plant for many years. Application speed shortens the maintenance and repair processes of the plants, increasing operational efficiency. Polyurea is an investment that increases the reliability and sustainability of fresh water treatment plants.

Polyurea Water Storage Tank

Polyurea coating ensures corrosion protection and water quality preservation of the water storage tank.

Application Process

1

Surface Preparation

The first step is to clean the surface of dirt, rust, and other residues. This process is carried out with diamond-tipped concrete grinding machines or sandblasting methods. The roughness of the surface is important to increase the adhesion of polyurea. Then, cracks and gaps on the surface are filled with appropriate filling materials.

2

Primer Application

After the surface preparation is completed, solvent-free epoxy primer or polyurethane primer is applied. The primer creates a strong bond between the polyurea and the surface, extending the life of the coating. The drying time of the primer varies depending on the type of primer used and the ambient temperature. It is important to apply the primer homogeneously.

3

Polyurea Application

Polyurea is applied at 60-85 degrees Celsius with a high-pressure polyurea machine. The application thickness is determined according to the requirements of the project, applied at a minimum thickness of 2mm. Polyurea is applied by spraying and cures in seconds. During the application, it is important that the polyurea is distributed homogeneously and reaches the desired thickness.

4

Quality Control and Finalization

After the polyurea application, the thickness, surface smoothness, and adhesion of the coating are checked. If deemed necessary, a top coat of UV-resistant paint coating can be applied. Finally, the coating surface is cleaned and made ready for use. A quality control report is prepared, documenting all stages of the application.

Application Process Summary

This process, consisting of surface preparation, primer application, high-pressure polyurea spraying, and quality control steps, ensures that the facility has long-lasting and reliable protection.
